Program Description / Purpose: The Casco Bay Estuary Partnership (CBEP) was formed in 1990, after the Bay was named an "estuary of national significance" and included in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Estuary Program. Its mission is to preserve the ecological integrity of Casco Bay and ensure compatible human uses of the Bay's resources through public stewardship and effective management. The organization provides technical assistance and grant opportunities.
