Program Description / Purpose:	GE Foundation environmental grants support efforts that preserve and restore the environment through hands-on stewardship activity, educate youth in environmental issues, support teacher professional development and strengthen risk–assessment tools for policy development. The Foundation focuses in four primary areas: Environmental Stewardship Environmental Education Environmental Professional Development Environmental Policy For all its grant programs, the GE Foundation solicits proposals from selected institutions and organizations. Unsolicited proposals are not encouraged.
Program Requirements / Restrictions:	Organizations must have 501 (c)(3) nonprofit status. The Foundation does not fund capital or special purpose campaigns, chairs, endowments, or equipment purchases. The Foundation does not make scholarships or research grants directly to individuals.
